OKAY I AM ALIVE.

Sorry this took so long!

It's really cool to see you branching out into a more painterly style. There are a handful of very successful things about this piece, especially the color palette. The greens and muted look is pretty successful, I can tell you were going for a nighttime palette. The hips are successful, as is the angle of the face.

A couple things to consider for next time:

Ear placement; if you draw two parallel lines from the corners of the eyes, you'll find a closer approximation to where the ear actually is. In this piece it's a little low down, but it's not a big deal.

Gesture and form of the spine; sketch in your basic shapes first before you get all painterly; the form of the spine and ribcage should be correct before you begin to paint in the forms of the scapula. The ribcage in this piece is flat and unconvincing.

The proportions of the whole figure are off; the upper body should take up less of the picture plane than the lower, but it's okay because the viewer is spending most of the time enjoying the musculature you've worked into the torso. XD Also, watch where you crop; cutting the figure off at the edge of the foot like that makes for an unbalanced and visually emaciated look.

The hands could use some work; draw the knuckles in and you can't go wrong with hands. As it is now, they're a bit jellylike. Also, study the folds of hakama and develop them as strongly as you have the forms of the upper back. It'll be BREATHTAKING.

I hope the critique helps some. The layered strokes of the skin are very successful; keep being patient and carry it over next time into the hakama as well if you can, it'll add a great sense of dimension. The misty, foggy aspect of the background is nice because it doesn't detract from the figure. Overall, very nice work! I'd be really interested to see more like this from you.
